We're a Tad Behind: Thanksgiving! But Hey, the Semester is Now OVER! Welcome Christmas!

So it's been a while since we have written. We have been kinda slackerish in that department, though we think we have good excuses like school and work and all that fun stuff, but then we thought about it and most everyone else is too. So here we are.

I finished up the semester officially as of 11 am when I turned in my engineering final project. Thank goodness! I think I heard choirs of angels as I pressed the submit button. I can now regain a bit of sanity again and not feel so befuddled now that I don't have school to worry about. It's funny though, I told Liz that by the end of the semester, my brain has muscle memory to be worried about things to get done. I feel like I should be getting something done to turn in or something in the back of my mind to finish something to study for, but alas, there is nothing.

So, here's a few pictures of our Thanksgiving break in Boise, we love it there!

Dykman Photography Blogspot

I'm working on getting word out on my photography so I decided to work on a blogspot to help get the word out. Come check it out, nothing super special, just enough to get word out.

Halloween and Pumpkin Fun

We had this idea of putting Patrick inside a pumpkin a while back ago and the shot came out exactly as I imagined, so stinkin' cute.

Patrick was so funny in the pumpkin, he just hung out in it enjoying the attention he got. Mommy helping him in.

Liz found this last minute pirate outfit on sale. His first Halloween costume.

Yep, I wrapped myself in tinfoil and it was like wearing an oven. Liz was a 50's (may I add really cute) girl.

Liz's cousin Heather Hines and her oldest daughter Cambreigh with Patrick.

We just love our little Patrick!

Pumpkin Walk and Fall Fun

This week we went to the community pumpkin walk in Logan where schools, businesses and other sponsers set up displays of favorite characters and heroes by painting and decorating pumpkins and sets. This one is from the Noahs arc display. The next is supposed to be a hospital operating room and the last one is a fountain made from pumpkins! It was so much fun to see all the creative ideas so many people came up with!

We enjoyed the pumpkin walk so much that we went twice! Once with my cousin Ashley Thorsted...

And once with our friends the Wards...

Matthew, Elizabeth, and Patrick Dykman; Staton, Libertee, Bailee, Emalee and Brad Ward at the pumpkin walk

Patrick as Yoda at the pumpkin walk

Like daddy, like son (When Matt works on his computer, Patrick becomes very interested and intent upon touching the screen and keys, we thing it may be the beginning of an interest that he comes by genetically.)

Patrick loves his daddy!

The other day, Matt was holding Patrick in the air above his head and playing air plane and Patrick puked! Matt saw it coming (it almost fell in his mouth), so he moved him as fast as he could and the puck landed on his chin! I thought it was so funny, I had to take a picture!

Patrick in his saucer... he's starting to really like playing in this.

Last week, we were so lucky to have Matt's mom and dad, Susan and Paul, come and visit us in Logan! We had Susan with us for a few days during the week too and were able to do some fun shopping, play some games and enjoy one another's company. (oh.. and get our car booted for parking in the wrong lot, yuck). It was also really good because Patrick was also able to spend some quality time with his grandma! Later on that weekend, Matt's dad Paul came too and a great time was had by all.

Patrick in his daddy's Utah State hat.. so cute!
In response to Heather's tag, here are seven unusual or unexpected things about me...

1. I've never been stung by a bee that I remember.

2. I have a skin condition called vitiligo on my arm where there is no pigment in a few spots.

3. I was in Ecuador as a volunteer and almost married a man from there. (I am so very glad I waited for Matthew though.)

4. I drove a semi truck for a summer temp job.

5. Elder Bednar (quorum of the 12) was one of my teachers at BYU-I.

6. I would rather wear dress pants and skirts than levis. It's not because I enjoy dressing more formal and I know it sounds weird, but I am more comfortable in them than jeans.

7. I love rock climbing! I don't have very good upper arm strength so it takes me forever to get to the top but I love it because of the sense of accomplishment I get from it.

Ok, that's my seven.. Now I tag;
