I made a quilt!

I am so excited! I wanted to continue developing some of my talents and I had an interest in sewing; so I decided to make some quilts. I told my grandma Moore about my interest and she found me a sewing machine that her neighbor gave to me because it wasn't being used. My mother is an amazing quilter so I bought some cute fabrics to start the quilts and she helped me come up with some patterns to use and helped me get started. This is the first one and I have plans to do three more. The video below is Patrick on the quilt I made and I am quite embarrassed by the video because I didn,t know Matt was recording me acting like a dork. (; The part with Patrick was adorable but I feel a little silly about my part. Oh well, most of you who already know me know I can be a little silly sometimes.

3 Trips in 5 Days to Ogden Fun

Okay, so to explain that last post, my grandpa's e-mail wasn't working and I needed his help with an engineering assignment, so the only way he could see it quickly was if I posted it on our blog. I thought I'd keep it up for fun to see peoples various reactions.

Anyways, we have made 3 trips to Ogden in 5 days. On Monday, we met with my parents at my great aunt Diane's (my grandma Dykman's sister) viewing. We then came down the next day for Liz's grandma Rosenlund's 87th birthday at Sizzler. That was pretty fun. And we are currently down in Layton to help Liz's Moore grandparents pack up another load in the trailer. It's funy because they moved right behind my parents home in Meridian, ID.

Not too much is going on right now, just work and school. Turns out I'm not teaching that Math class now because my school schedule is just too tight so I'm putting more hours in at the law firm and watching Patrick while Liz teaches the class. Her old job just wasn't worth the hastle. But we ave our routine dwn pretty good now.

I guess it wouldn't be me if I didn't talk about the electronic toys I enjoy playing with. I am getting a new cell phone after nearly two years. The one I have now is on it's last leg and kinda junky. So, I thought I'd get a phone that I'd like for a lot longer time. No, not an iPhone, I wish, several problems is that we're not AT&T, the monthly charges would be like our grocery bill, and the initial cost is minimal $200. Also, about a month ago, my 80GB iPod video decided to die so I sold it as scrap. Anyways, with some added discounts I'm going to get the LG Voyager (w/Touch Screen yay and transfer music from my MacBook Pro). Anyway, thought I'd share because I'm weird that way.

Patrick has been so cute! He's starting to learn about grabbing, which for now is cute, but we'll probably wish he'll unlearn in about 6 months or so. We give hime little plush bunny to hold, or, er uh, eat. He's also been a little jabberjaw lately just cooing and "gooin" and laughing. Oh it does our hearts well. Here's a picture with Patrick an his bunny. Cute!

This Monday was my birthday. When I woke up in the morning, I went to work out for an hour, and when I came home, Matt had flowers set out on the table for me, a thoughtful card, romantic music playing and a willow tree statue (above). He also gave me a soft warm throw blanket and put a note on it that said it was a hug from him in case he ever is there to give me a real one. He is such a sweet, kind man and I feel so blessed to have him in my life. He cleaned up in the house and did the dishes on my day too and this made it even extra special. I love him so very much and could never ask for a better man for me. He is so helpful with Patrick as well and a wonderful father for him. I am sure he will grow up wanting to be just like his daddy.

Something else that we did on my birthday for a little adventure, was that we looked up on the internet all the different places you can get free stuff for your birthday and went around to some of the places here in town. For those of you who have birthdays coming up, be sure to get a free Signature Creation at Cold Stone, free movie at Hollywood Video, free Fh'zookie at Firehouse Pizza. A few other places that we didn't go to, but that we learned about were Red Robin, where you can get a free Hamburger, IHOP-a free meal and Golden Corral- where you can also get a free meal. Yeah, we agree were cheap to be capitalizing on free birthday stuff, but we're poor college kids right now and we have fun on our little creative adventures.

.

Last weekend we had so much fun visiting Paul and Heather Moore in Provo Utah. Abigail had her first birthday while we were there as well and that was so much fun seeing her and Samantha and how big they have both grown. We love the Moore's so much and are so happy we were able to spend some time with them.
When we were in Provo we were also able to go to Matthew's Ohio Mission Reunion. I really enjoyed meeting all of his old companions that I had previously heard stories about and both of his old mission presidents were there as well.
